All About .... Cheryl Strahl Photography
My bio, exhibits, links and contact information.
Light is my guide. Where it leads, I follow - camera in hand - as it paints color and shadow, emphasizing lines and shapes, shifting its magic from moment to moment.
I am a traveler, and my passion for photography has led me to many exciting locations around the world. Wherever I go, it's the light that calls to me, offering new perspectives and revealing bits of the world in a way I've never seen before. Whether it's capturing the polar bears of the Arctic on the North Slope of Alaska and the grizzly bears in interior Alaska, the amazing southern Africa wildlife in the winter, the culture and beauty of Peru, Vietnam and Mexico, or of the beautiful old-world charm of Albania, or of lively festivals in Venice and San Miguel de Allende, or of magical moments in our own National Parks, my camera grants me a personal window to the world, allowing me to capture an image frozen in time ... and make it mine.
I am a retired software engineer whose passion has gone from writing and managing software to capturing and processing photographs. My photography has gained both local and national recognition and won several awards as well as acceptance into juried fine art photography shows in San Luis Obispo county, Oakland, Solvang and San Diego. I enjoy donating both my art and photographic services to several non-profit groups in our community.
I am loving my photographic journey and am so fortunate to come back from my travels to such a beautiful place as the Central Coast of CA!

I hope that you enjoy my photography as much as I enjoy sharing it with you!
