On a trip to northern Alaska, a small herd of musk oxen was sighted a mile off the Dalton Highway just north of the Brooks Range. A few of us trekked through deep snow to get close enough to them to capture them with our long lenses. They were amazing to see in the frigid arctic wild. We watched them interact briefly before they turned and wandered off.
